Note for wildlife cases

Veterinary practices have a professional duty to provide emergency first aid and pain relief to injured wildlife brought to them. Many will help stabilise common species without charge, but this is not a legal requirement and policies vary. Always telephone first.

For larger or specialised wildlife, contact a dedicated wildlife hospital or rehabilitator where possible. Practices may stabilise and then arrange transfer.
